Plum Academia Study

Originally completed as part of a project with Arden Design House.

This study was designed to feel rich, cozy, and a little unexpected. A deep purple palette gives the room its personality, while layered furnishings, warm wood tones, and softer textiles keep it from feeling too formal or overly dramatic. The goal was to create a space that felt distinctive and collected, but still comfortable enough to actually spend time in.

The design balances color, pattern, and traditional details with a cleaner overall layout so the room feels intentional rather than busy.

The design focused on

  • Building a bold room around a deep purple palette

  • Layering warm wood, textiles, and pattern for depth

  • Creating a collected look without making the space feel cluttered

  • Balancing traditional details with a more relaxed, livable feel

  • Using 3D renderings to study color, scale, and furniture placement before implementation

The result: A functional, personality-filled study that feels layered, comfortable, and distinctly its own.
